StandardAero’s Summerside achieves 20,000th engine induction
The Canadian MRO provider has supported PT6A, PW100 and JT15D engines for over three decades and employs more than 475 technicians.
The facility began operations in 1991 with just four employees.

StandardAero has completed the 20,000th engine induction at its Summerside, Prince Edward Island facility, which serves as the company’s centre of excellence for turboprop MRO. Located in Slemon Park, the site is a Designated Overhaul Facility for the PT6A, PW100 and JT15D engines, and has been operating since 1991.

Jeff Poirier, vice president and general manager of the turboprops and fleets business unit, says: “The achievement of our 20,000th engine induction is a testament to the unwavering dedication and customer focus of our talented workforce.”

Since starting with four staff, the Summerside operation has grown to over 475 employees supporting global customers from its 130,000 square-foot airside facility.

StandardAero is the world’s largest independent authorised DOF for the PT6A, PW100 and JT15D, supporting operators from overhaul locations in Canada, France and beyond, with multiple service centres across North America, South America, Africa, Europe and Australasia.

It has supported the PT6A since 1964, the PW100 since 1984 and the JT15D since 1974. The Summerside site offers tailored services including engine repair, re-engineering STCs, exchanges and rentals, plus pay-per-hour programmes such as VMAX for the JT15D.
