Cirrus Aircraft has broken ground on a 30,000 square foot expansion of its 165,000 square foot Grand Forks, North Dakota manufacturing site. The $13 million project will support continued production of its SR series and Vision Jet aircraft.

The new space will house equipment, storage and technical tools, and will create jobs over the next five years. The expansion is expected to be completed in Q2 2026.

CEO Zean Nielsen said: “We have worked closely with the Grand Forks legislature and community to invest in the growth and expansion of a facility that not only supports manufacturing the best-selling single-engine piston aircraft and best-selling jet, right here in Grand Forks.”

The SR series and Vision Jet come equipped with CAPS and Safe Return Emergency Autoland systems, while Cirrus Approach Flight Training and its global training and support network complete the company’s safety offering. More than 11,000 aircraft have been delivered, and the fleet has now logged over 18 million flight hours.
