Stick n Throttle chooses Alsim ALX for sim-based training
The South African flight school has purchased an Alsim ALX to enhance multi-level pilot training for ATPL, CPL and MCC.
The ALX simulator allows Stick n Throttle to cover multiple training stages using just one unit.

Stick n Throttle Aviation, a flight training provider based in South Africa, has invested in an Alsim ALX simulator. The device supports training across four aircraft classes, from single-engine piston through to medium-category twin jet, and is certified for ATPL, CPL and MCC instruction.

The ALX is designed to meet regulatory standards and offers advanced simulation technology while reducing the number of in-aircraft hours required. Its flexibility allows multiple training stages in a single unit, making it a cost-effective option.

Etienne Bekker, director and head of training at Stick n Throttle Aviation, says the ALX was “a natural choice for the multi-faceted options it offers in a single generic simulator”. He adds that Alsim’s representation in South Africa and performance during SACAA qualification helped guide the decision: “The product works and performs as required for SACAA qualification and is supported by well-known factory assistance throughout the process.”

He continues: “From the start of our experience, it has only been a breeze with adequate information supplied as required. Support from the sales team to the current dispatch and upcoming staff training has been well-informed and ahead of time.”

Alsim sales manager Leonardo Rodrigues says: “We are delighted to support Stick n Throttle Aviation in enhancing its training capabilities with the addition of the Alsim ALX and would like to thank it for its confidence.”
