Intercontinental Aviation Academy (IAA), based in Dubai, has invested in the Alsim AL40/42 simulator, a training device designed to replicate the Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft.
The AL40/42 simulator reproduces Diamond-specific interior cockpits and flight decks. Switching between the DA42 and DA40 configuration is carried out by swapping the dashboard and middle console, with a conversion kit providing two cockpit and central panels, including aircraft system switches, Garmin avionics and specific power levers, fuel selection and yaw trim panels.
The AL40/42 model is designed for PPL, CPL and IR/ME training in line with EASA FNPT II, FAA AATD/FTD 5 and Transport Canada FTD Level 2 standards, with IPC capability.
“The Alsim is proud to have been chosen as the simulator provider as part of IAA's impressive investments in pilot training and its rapid growth,” says Leonardo Rodrigues, sales manager at Alsim. “Its new simulator can be used with both DA40 and DA42 cockpits, and the change between them takes only about 10 minutes, offering great flexibility and supporting modern, efficient training for future pilots.”
The AL42 configuration will be on display at Alsim’s booth during AERO Friedrichshafen in Germany later this month, with demonstrations available for booking in advance.
“Our mission is to prepare the next generation of aviators with the best tools and standards available in the industry,” says Frederico Fernandes, CEO of Intercontinental Aviation Academy. “The addition of the Alsim AL40/42 demonstrates our dedication to providing training that truly reflects real-world operations and airline expectations.”
