Henderson, Nevada-based Aerocor has launched a Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) programme designed specifically for Eclipse Jet operators, in partnership with the Eclipse Jet Owners and Pilots Association (EJOPA). The tool is now available at no cost following a four-month trial period.
The initial focus is on stabilised approach monitoring. Pilots’ performance is evaluated using criteria co-developed by Aerocor and EJOPA, allowing flight data to inform operational self-assessment. The feature is embedded into Aerocor’s recurrent training, enabling instructors to adapt sessions based on real-world data from each participant’s own flying.
Aerocor president Gavin Woodman says: “We’re incredibly excited about the role this data can play in improving operational safety across the Eclipse fleet. By giving pilots and instructors access to meaningful insights, we can move beyond one-size-fits-all training and support a culture of continuous improvement.”
Alongside safety and instructional gains, the data-driven approach is expected to support reduced insurance premiums for participants. Additional FOQA features are currently in development and will be released in the coming months.
