Unifi has expanded into UK business aviation with a ground handling contract at London Oxford Airport, starting 15 April. The agreement covers ramp handling and fuelling services, marking the company’s first such contract in the sector. From 1 May, it will also oversee the airport’s entire security operation, including access control, visitor coordination, ID centre management and NASP-compliant screening.
This is Unifi’s third fixed base operation security contract in the UK, and the first time the airport has outsourced ramp management. The facility, owned by the Reuben Brothers, is undergoing major development including a £48 million AerOx R&D park and new hangar.
Unifi UK’s existing ties to the airport, particularly through aircraft detailing firm Up & Away which it acquired in 2023, played a key role in securing the work. Up & Away has operated at London Oxford since 2008.
Managing director for Unifi UK and Ireland Stefan Murphy says: “We are excited to expand our partnership with London Oxford Airport through ground handling and security operations. Unifi is onboarding 35 staff to manage both contracts and will continue to operate detailing services under the Up & Away brand. Ramp services will be branded ‘London Oxford Airport powered by Unifi’.
