AERO 2025 hosts record number of aircraft and world premieres
Business aviation drew crowds in Friedrichshafen as exhibitors showcased flight debuts and future-focused technology from 38 nations.
The Friedrichshafen trade fair displayed its highest-ever total of aircraft this year, with 328 showcased across the event.

AERO Friedrichshafen 2025 brought more aircraft to the showground than ever before. The 31st edition featured 328 on display, up from 270 in 2024, with exhibits ranging from gliders to long-range jets. Organiser fairnamic GmbH counted 760 exhibitors from 38 countries and welcomed 32,100 visitors from over 80 nations to Lake Constance.

Business aviation had a strong showing, with what was described as the largest line-up of business aircraft at any European trade event this year. A dedicated Business Aviation Dome, a transparent 2,000 square metre hangar in the static display, formed the centrepiece of this segment.

CEO Stefan Reisinger of fairnamic GmbH says: “AERO 2025 was a precision landing. We have been able to expand our expertise and relevance. The new trade fair concept with the Business Aviation Show Hub has been a stunning success.” AERO show director Tobias Bretzel adds: “AERO 2025 met all expectations and exceeded many. The exhibitors presented a large number of innovations and premieres and reported strong business deals. The mood in the industry and among the audience was excellent. Without exaggerating, I can say that this was the best AERO ever.”

World premieres included the RX4E, billed as the world’s first certified four-seat electric aircraft, which flew during the e-Flight Airshow. Also debuting were the Pilatus PC-12 PRO and the Swiss Smartflyer prototype. Electric, hybrid and hydrogen-powered aircraft featured prominently, presented by start-ups, manufacturers and universities.

Rotorcraft were well represented, with a record 30 helicopters including the Bell 505, Bell 407GXi and Airbus H160. The Heli-Hangar in Hall B5 continues to serve as a hub for the sector. The single and twin-engine piston aircraft sector, considered the backbone of general aviation, was again supported by all major manufacturers.

The Career Days fair hosted over 30 aviation companies, each offering job paths in flying, engineering and services. The event’s expansion continues abroad with AERO South Africa in June and AERO Asia in November. The 32nd edition in Friedrichshafen will take place from 22 to 25 April 2026.
