Bombardier has confirmed that its upcoming Abu Dhabi service facility will now be built at Al Bateen Executive Airport, rather than Abu Dhabi International. Construction is set to begin in the first half of 2025 with completion expected in late 2026. The project forms part of Bombardier’s broader effort to expand its global maintenance, repair and overhaul network.

The 120,000 sq ft facility will include a 55,000 sq ft hangar, parts depot and support for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modifications and aircraft on ground services. It will serve Global 7500 and 8000 aircraft as well as the full Learjet, Challenger and Global families.

Around 100 aerospace jobs are expected to be created by the time the site reaches full capacity. Bombardier describes the location as better aligned with the needs of its customers in the region.

“This location is strategically aligned with all our aftermarket priorities and perfectly matches the needs of our discerning customer base,” says Paul Sislian, executive vice president, aftermarket services and strategy for Bombardier. “This new facility in this dynamic financial hub will ensure they continue to receive the best service experience possible.”

“This move represents a strategic alignment,” adds Abu Dhabi Airports’ CEO Elena Sorlini. “This facility will further affirm Abu Dhabi's position as a leading aviation hub and contribute significantly to the region's economic growth.”

The development complements Bombardier’s Dubai line maintenance station, which provides AOG and general support to operators in the UAE.
