CHC Brazil keeps hold of Petrobras ops excellence award
The company has also signed two Petrobras contracts for S92A support in Roncador and added a new heliport base at Farol de São Tomé.
The Petrobras PEOTRAM award was given to the CHC team for the second consecutive year.

CHC do Brasil, a division of CHC Helicopter, has been recognised for the second year running as the top provider for Operational Excellence in Offshore Transportation in Brazil. The PEOTRAM award is issued annually by Petrobras to highlight top-tier performance in offshore aviation operations and maintenance.

This year’s audit process involved six companies and a five-day review by three Petrobras auditors. Evaluations followed IOGP’s 690 international standards, a key benchmark for offshore safety and operational practices. CHC Brazil scored the highest marks across multiple categories.

The result comes as CHC Brazil secures two new contracts with Petrobras. The operator will support offshore operations in Roncador, the country’s largest non-pre-salt field, using two Sikorsky S92-A helicopters. These will be based at Farol de São Tomé heliport, establishing CHC’s fifth base of operations in Brazil. The five-year contracts will begin by Q3 2025.

CHC’s Latin America sales director Licia Rocha says: “Operational excellence is core to our offer and a key factor in retaining our customers. This recognition is a testament to the consistent high-quality standards and constant innovation within our entire team to deliver a best-in-class service.”

The new contracts increase CHC Brazil’s heavy aircraft fleet by 33 per cent, strengthening its position with the S92A model.

Operations director Gilson Caputo adds: “We pride ourselves on having the best S92A availability in the country. By expanding the number of aircraft we have locally, we expect to reinforce CHC’s global flight standards in safety and operational excellence here in Brazil.”
