Epic reveals E1000 AX with Autoland and 25 innovations
The next-gen turboprop was presented at Sun ’n Fun with a larger payload, more automation and new exterior schemes.
The E1000 AX offers a max cruise speed of 333 knots, a climb rate of 4,000 feet per minute and a service ceiling of 34,000 feet.

Epic Aircraft has launched the E1000 AX, its latest high-performance single-engine turbine, featuring more than 25 upgrades including Garmin Autothrottle and Autoland. The aircraft debuted at Sun ’n Fun Aerospace Expo in Lakeland, Florida.

The E1000 AX builds on the performance of the E1000 GX and is powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6-67A engine delivering 1,200 horsepower. It offers a max cruise speed of 333 knots, a climb rate of 4,000 feet per minute and a service ceiling of 34,000 feet. Payload capacity with full fuel has increased by 50 pounds to 1,150 pounds.

Autothrottle and Autoland are integrated with the G1000 NXi avionics suite. Autothrottle manages engine power automatically throughout flight, while Autoland can fully control, navigate and land the aircraft autonomously in the event of pilot incapacitation.

Other additions include a windscreen with CoolView windows, Garmin GDL 60 with PlaneSync, GRA 5500 radar altimeter, StormOptix weather radar, yaw damper, brake hold and lithium-ion batteries. The cockpit is built for pilots up to 6’8” tall and the cabin includes category-leading legroom and optional Starlink internet.

“The E1000 AX is a testament to our team’s passionate and ongoing commitment to adding automated, safety-enhancing tools and technology for pilots and passengers,” says Epic CEO Doug King. “We are dedicated to setting a new standard in safety as well as performance and comfort.”

Epic also revealed the Skyline Collection: eight paint schemes and over 200 colour options. Certification is expected by summer 2025.
