Electric refueller truck comes to Del Monte Aviation
The electric refueller truck was delivered on March 17 to Del Monte Aviation at Monterey Regional Airport, marking the company's first step in converting ground equipment to sustainable power.
The electric truck was created by Avfuel’s in-house team in collaboration with Del Monte Aviation.

Avfuel Corporation delivered its first electric-powered refueller truck for jet fuel to Del Monte Aviation at Monterey Regional Airport (KMRY), California. The vehicle was immediately placed into operation, removing a source of emissions at the FBO. Avfuel plans to deliver a second electric refueller to Del Monte Aviation next month.

“The delivery of our electric-powered refueller truck further highlights both Avfuel's and Del Monte Aviation's commitment to sustainability within their operations and beyond,” says David Mittleman, regional sales manager for Avfuel. “The collaboration between Avfuel and Del Monte Aviation showcases a powerful model for how the industry can come together to drive sustainability forward. We're proud to lead the way in shaping its future.”

Monterey Regional Airport and its FBOs have been actively involved in sustainable aviation practices. In 2021, Monterey Jet Center, also located at KMRY, became Avfuel's first consistent supplier of Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel.

Del Monte Aviation is pleased to continue to grow our industry-leading partnership with Avfuel to create unique, sustainable fuelling options for our customers,” says Matt Wright, vice president of Del Monte Aviation. “The addition of electric refueller trucks represents an ongoing commitment to providing the latest in technology to complement and enhance an award-winning culture of safety and service in operations while doing so with an increasingly smaller environmental footprint.”

Avfuel's in-house team collaborated with its sales department and Del Monte Aviation over the past year to develop the electric-powered refueller, ensuring smooth integration into the FBO’s existing fleet.
