Gogo secures STC for GV and G550 Ka-band connectivity
The company's newly approved Ka-band terminal delivers faster broadband, increased data transmission and seamless integration with Viasat’s evolving satellite infrastructure for Gulfstream operators.
The FAA supplemental type certificate (STC) approves Gogo's tail mount terminal for Gulfstream GV and G550 aircraft.

Gogo has received FAA supplemental type certificate (STC) approval for its Plane Simple Ka-band tail mount terminal on Gulfstream GV and G550 aircraft. Developed with Gulfstream Aerospace at its Savannah, Georgia headquarters, the STC expands on existing approvals for the G650 and G650ER.

The terminal integrates with the SD Gateway Router to provide high-speed broadband for passengers and crew. Chris Moore, Gogo CEO, says: “The latest STC in our growing portfolio gives Gulfstream GV and G550 owners and operators access to more speed, more data and more service plan flexibility.”

The Ka-band antenna connects to Viasat's Jet ConneX network and is designed for future compatibility with next-generation GX satellites, which will double data transmission capacity. Installations are available through authorised Gulfstream and Jet Aviation service centres, with an aftermarket STC for the Gulfstream G500 and G600 expected later this year.
