World Fuel to manage fuel retailing at Gold Coast
Under a new 10-year agreement, World Fuel Services will oversee fuel operations at Gold Coast Airport’s business aviation apron.
The agreement includes aviation fuel facility upgrades and staff training.

World Fuel Services (World Fuel), a World Kinect company, is expanding its partnership with Platinum Business Aviation Centre, a member of the Air Elite by World Fuel network. From March 2025, World Fuel will manage and administer Platinum’s fuel retailing operations at Gold Coast Airport (OOL) in Coolangatta, Australia.

The 10-year agreement builds on a six-year collaboration, with World Fuel previously supplying fuel and equipment to Platinum’s fixed-base operations (FBO). As part of the transition, aviation fuel facilities at OOL will undergo upgrades, and Platinum’s staff will receive JIG-compliant fuel training to maintain service and safety standards.

“Working with World Fuel allows us to offer our customers a more integrated service,” says Platinum Business Aviation Centre general manager Joe Stenning. “This collaboration leverages World Fuel’s global reach and expertise to enhance our operations and improve the experience for aircraft operators at OOL.”

Platinum staff will continue handling refuelling and ground operations, ensuring a seamless transition.

World Fuel, which has been active in Australia since 2011, has expanded its local presence to 30 airport sites. “This agreement highlights our mutual dedication to delivering superior service to aviation customers and improving operational efficiency at OOL,” says Davin Magee, managing director of World Fuel Services Australia.
