Axis secures UK Level D for Challenger CL650 sim
The Swiss-operated full flight simulator, previously certified by FOCA, has now met the UK’s highest regulatory training standards.
The simulator features a rehosted Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite, a Honeywell Mark VA EGPWS and a Rockwell Collins EP8100 visual system with a 200x40-degree field of view.

Axis Flight Training Systems' Bombardier Challenger CL650 full flight simulator (FFS) has achieved Level D qualification from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The device, operated by Swiss Air-Rescue Service Rega at Lufthansa Aviation Training near Zürich Airport, was first certified to Level D by the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) in November 2023.

“Achieving Level D certification from the CAA demonstrates our commitment to the highest industry standards and broadens our global reach,” says Christian Theuermann, member of the executive board. “This dual certification enhances the credibility of our CL650 FFS, ensuring it meets rigorous requirements across key aviation markets.”

The simulator features a rehosted Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite, a Honeywell Mark VA EGPWS and a Rockwell Collins EP8100 visual system with a 200x40-degree field of view. It also includes an E2M motion system, windshear warning, synthetic vision, LPV approach and autothrottle capabilities, along with simulations of 87 airports worldwide.
