MRO and FBO outfit Yingling Aviation, located at Wichita's Dwight D. Eisenhower National airport in Kansas, has successfully completed its first installation of Starlink on a Bombardier Global, marking a milestone in next-generation inflight connectivity.
The installation provides seamless, high-speed, low-latency internet access, delivering a high quality inflight experience. The aircraft's operator, recognising the increasing demand for reliable, global connectivity, selected Starlink for its unlimited data, cost-effective pricing and ease of use.
“My principal needs to be connected 24/7 with his business. Cost was a huge driver, and we decided to go with this new player in connectivity, Starlink,” says Mike Carney, director of aviation. “The unlimited wi-fi with no contract and month-to-month flexibility was a major factor. The app is very user-friendly and allows you to track usage. Our test flight was flawless; speeds were exceptionally fast, even with 10 users streaming simultaneously. During testing, crew members used wi-fi for live weather satellite streaming while others were on their phones, yet we still saw speeds up to 290 Mbps in flight and over 800 Mbps on the ground, with no delays or latency issues.”
Yingling Aviation's expert avionics team handled the installation with precision, ensuring seamless integration into the Bombardier Global airframe.
“We're excited to offer Starlink as a connectivity solution for our customers,” states Josh Peterson, regional sales manager/ avionics technical sales manager at Yingling Aviation. “This installation underscores our commitment to providing cutting-edge technology and top-tier service. With Starlink, operators can now enjoy high-speed internet without the limitations of traditional satellite systems.”
