The DA62 platform has been in the sky for more than 20 years.

Middle East and north Africa operator United ATS has taken delivery of a Diamond DA62 MPP special mission aircraft. It is equipped with the latest Leica CityMapper-2 for survey applications and the Airfield Technology AT-940 for flight inspection missions, significantly enhancing United ATS’s operational capabilities.

The DA62 Multi-Purpose Platform (MPP), known for its versatility and efficiency, is the ideal platform for a wide range of airborne special missions. The integration of the Leica CityMapper-2, a high-performance sensor system, allows for precise and comprehensive aerial surveys. This technology is crucial for urban planning, infrastructure development and environmental monitoring, offering high-resolution data and 3D mapping capabilities.

“Our collaboration and shared commitment to innovation with Diamond ensured United ATS the seamless integration of our industry-leading airborne, hybrid system on Diamond’s state-of-the-art aircraft,” comments Layton Hobbs, product line manager at Leica Geosystems. “We are thrilled to have another Leica CityMapper-2 on board the DA62 MPP and look forward to the amazing projects United ATS will be delivering in the near future.”

Additionally, the Airfield Technology AT-940, a cutting-edge flight inspection system, will enable United ATS to perform accurate and efficient flight inspections and procedure validation. This system ensures the highest standards of safety and compliance for airfields, supporting United ATS’s commitment to delivering exceptional aviation services.

This latest delivery further cements Diamond Aircraft's position as an industry-leading provider of innovative and high-quality aircraft and system integration. Diamond Aircraft MPP aircraft have been successfully flown by special mission operators worldwide for 20 years.

“We are proud to support United ATS with our DA62 MPP special mission aircraft,” states Jerome Berg, sales manager Diamond Aircraft. “This delivery underscores our dedication to providing advanced and reliable aircraft solutions that meet the diverse needs of our clients. The DA62 MPP, equipped with the Leica CityMapper-2 and Airfield Technology AT-940, will empower United ATS to achieve new heights in aerial surveying and flight inspection.”

Based on Diamond Aircraft’s market-leading DA62 model, the DA62 MPP is the latest variant in Diamond Aircraft’s successful special mission aircraft portfolio. The all-carbon-fibre, twin-engine aircraft is equipped with a glass cockpit and a fully integrated autopilot. The carbon fibre material provides for unlimited airframe life and is not subject to corrosion, even when operated in saline and humid environments. It is powered by two turbo-charged jet-fuel engines with superb fuel efficiency. Together, fuel efficiency and the unlimited airframe life combine for extremely low direct operating costs, making the DA62 MPP the most cost-efficient special mission aircraft in its class.
