London Biggin Hill celebrates decade of heli shuttle
It is ten years since the airport launched the six minute shuttle service to the centre of London. Operated by Castle Air, it offers the quickest transfer from any London airport into the heart of the capital.
The London Heli Shuttle has been a vital part of the airport’s service offering for the past decade.

London Biggin Hill airport is celebrating 10 years of the London Heli Shuttle.

At just six minutes, this exclusive and unrivalled service operated by Castle Air and its fleet of AgustaWestland AW139 and AW109 helicopters, offers the quickest transfer from any London airport into the heart of the capital, giving business and private aviation customers hours of more productive time with each return trip flown.

Robert Walters, commercial director at the airport, says: “The London Heli Shuttle has been a vital part of the airport’s service offering for the past decade. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Castle Air, reflecting our shared focus on efficiency as we continue to deliver the ultimate time machine experience for our customers.”

This milestone follows the Heli Shuttle’s first SAF-powered flight last year, strengthening London Biggin Hill’s partnership with Castle Air, one of more than 70 resident aviation companies. Located 12 miles from central London, the airport offers award-winning handling, a choice of FBOs, extensive hangarage, support and maintenance services and, as a designated UK Port of Entry, is free of runway slot constraints.

There are very few places in the world other than London Biggin Hill where aircraft operators and support companies can conduct all aspects of their business operations, management and maintenance at the heart of a global city and with the confidence in their ability to expand and develop over time.
