Phillips 66 inaugurates Safe Sky Award
FBOs will be evaluated against aviation fuel safety performance, programme innovation and leadership.
Being recognised for the Safe Sky award signifies a dedication to high standards and a proactive approach to maintaining fuel management safety.

US refiner and supplier Phillips 66 Aviation has introduced its inaugural Safe Sky Award, a prestigious recognition for branded FBOs that set high standards in aviation fuel safety performance, innovation and leadership.

“Being recognised for this award signifies a dedication to high standards and a proactive approach to maintaining fuel management safety,” says manager Sunny Lopez. “It acknowledges Phillips 66 branded FBOs that go above and beyond regulatory requirements to ensure the safety and well-being of their operations.”

Phillips 66 is committed to promoting and recognising excellence in fuel safety practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and setting a benchmark for operational standards within the industry. This commitment is demonstrated through various aviation fuel safety initiatives developed by its experts, including the ‘Save a Life, Verify Fuel Type’ public service misfuelling prevention campaign, as well as online resources and training materials available on TrustedFuel.com.

The FBOs will be evaluated across three key categories: aviation fuel safety performance, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest safety protocols and exceeding industry standards; programme innovation, recognising forward-thinking initiatives and implementation of innovative fuel safety programmes or procedures that set new benchmarks in the industry; and leadership, honouring those who foster a safety culture and motivate both staff and customers to prioritise fuel safety and operational excellence at every level.

Phillips 66 branded FBOs can nominate their FBO starting 3 December, 2024 until 31 January, 2025. Honourees will be announced and celebrated at an exclusive event during the 2025 Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference in New Orleans.
