Aura Aero has become a laureate of the France 2030 programme, in the frame of the call for projects entitled 'Producing low-carbon aircraft in France'.

France aims to be home to the first low-carbon aircraft and Aura Aero's approach, reinventing regional mobility with the ERA, its modern low-carbon aircraft due to enter in service before 2030, has been recognised and welcomed by the state. As such, Aura Aero will receive a significant financial support of around $14.2 million (13.2m euros), which will help cover part of the development costs of the ERA programme.

This new eco-responsible 19 seat aircraft, propelled by eight electric engines, addresses the environmental challenges of the 21st century. It reduces C02 emissions by up to 80 per cent compared to thermal aircraft in the same category and makes regional connectivity viable again thanks to its low operational costs. A dozen airlines and operators have selected the ERA, and 500 aircraft have already been pre-ordered, representing a value of $8 billion.

President and co-founder Jérémy Caussade welcomes this news: "We are very proud to have been selected among the laureates of the France 2030 programme. This is, for us, an additional mark of confidence, the proof that our approach is the right one and that our aircraft contribute to decarbonising aviation. The support of France 2030, through BpiFrance, will enable us to accelerate ERA's development process."

Launched by the French President in 2021, France 2030 aims at accelerating the transformation of key-sectors in French economy through innovation and positioning the country not only as a player but also as a leader of the world of tomorrow, the objective being to foster new players and new sectors by dedicating half of resources to emerging actors. With 54 billion euros to be invested by 2030, the France 2030 programme is five times more important than the third investment programme for the future, initiated in 2017. France 2030 is a major contributor to the decarbonisation of French economy to which Aura Aero intends to contribute actively.
