Wyvern welcomes Midwest Flying Service as Wingman operator
The small, family-run company provides travel for organ transplant flights. The safety of the medical teams and their cargo is its number one priority, as evidenced by its achieving Wingman certification.
Midwest Flying Service in Iowa has secured Wyvern Wingman operator status.

Iowa-based Part 135 Midwest Flying Service has secured its designation as a Wyvern Wingman certified operator following a successful audit as well as ongoing participation in the Wyvern Flight Leader Program.

"Being a small, family-run company, our passion is to provide safe and comfortable travel for our medical teams. We take great pride and honour in our organ transplant flights. The safety of our transplant teams and precious cargo is our number one priority. By achieving Wyvern Wingman certification, we have shown our dedication to the safety of our flights," says owner and CEO Lyle Vust.

Wyvern Wingman operators are evaluated by the Wingman Standard criteria, the scope of which includes an assessment of operational activities, review on the company operational history and safety records, SMS, internal evaluation programme, administrative compositions, technical documentation, pilot and aircraft records, training requirements and maintenance operations including technician training and experience.

"We congratulate Midwest Flying Service for achieving Wingman certification, which validates its effective safety management system and excellence in managing operations and aircraft maintenance. Wingman operators stand out from others by allowing Wyvern to assess their conformity to best practices and collaborate with them to continually monitor their continuous improvement related to the management of risk," adds Andrew Day, Wyvern senior vice president, operations.
