G5000 retrofit soon for XLS+ and XLS Gen2
The G5000 avionics upgrade modernises the cockpit and addresses the evolution of FAA airspace, while also offering a lower cost of operation for Citation XLS+ and XLS Gen2 owners and operators.
Garmin has expanded its portfolio of G5000 integrated flight deck retrofit upgrades to include the Cessna Citation XLS+ and XLS Gen2.

The Garmin G5000 integrated flight deck will soon be available for the Cessna Citation XLS+ and XLS Gen2, for installation at Textron service centres, following anticipated supplemental type certification approval by the FAA in the first half of 2024. The G5000 avionics upgrade modernises the cockpit and addresses the evolution of FAA airspace, while also offering a lower cost of operation.

“Garmin's G5000 integrated flight deck is already a popular modification for Cessna Citation Excel and XLS customers because it offers unmatched situational awareness, lower cost of operation and an improved in-flight experience,” says senior vice president of customer support Brian Rohloff. "We look forward to expanding this upgrade option to additional Citation operators as we continue to design and deliver the best customer experience and support our customers through the entire life cycle of their aircraft.”

This avionics upgrade will be available through Textron Aviation's factory-owned service centres. Beechcraft, Cessna and Hawker customers receive factory-direct support, maintenance and modifications by Textron through its global network of service and part centres, mobile service units and 24/7 1CALL AOG support.

“The G5000 upgrade programme for the Citation Excel and XLS has transformed more than 120 aircraft since its certification in 2019, bringing significant technology and financial benefit to operators around the globe. We look forward to expanding this programme to include the Citation XLS+ and XLS Gen2, bringing the same advanced avionics capabilities and lower operating costs to more Citations in the fleet,” says Carl Wolf, Garmin vice president of aviation sales and marketing.

Both existing and new G5000 Excel, XLS, XLS+ and XLS Gen2 operators can take advantage of Garmin's new enhanced G5000 features, which include 3D Exocentric view, Taxiway Routing, StormOptix radar, ADS-B In and PlaneSync. The G5000 integrated flight deck for XLS+ and XLS Gen2 aircraft will be available in the first half of 2024 through Textron service centres and includes a three-year standard warranty.
