ForeFlight launches Sentry Plus ADS-B Receiver
Sentry Plus builds on the capabilities of prior ADS-B products with powerful new features and long battery life. It combines these with the best of previous devices to make flying and logging even easier.

ForeFlight has launched Sentry Plus, the latest addition to its ADS-B product suite, offering new features such as longer battery life, a high-performance flight data recorder, g-Load meter, support for FLARM traffic and much more.

“We continue to expand the Sentry family of affordable ADS-B products with the most advanced portable receiver yet,” says president Tim Schuetze. “Sentry Plus combines the best of previous devices with new innovations to make flying and logging even easier for every kind of pilot. We're proud to offer the only device on the market combining so many powerful features in such a compact and affordable device.”

Sentry Plus integrates all the capabilities of prior Sentry devices, including ADS-B In weather and traffic, WAAS GPS, carbon monoxide (CO) monitoring and alerting, AHRS pitch and bank and more, with powerful new features in an innovative and compact design.

“The Sentry product line has proven to be a literal life-saver for many pilots, both as a weather and traffic awareness tool, and as a carbon monoxide monitor,” says uAvionix president Christian Ramsey. “The Sentry Plus' evolution represents direct customer feedback for expanded capabilities and life saving features. The partnership between ForeFlight and uAvionix continues to drive innovation that results in amazing products for our pilot community.”

Its most prominent feature, a 1.3” OLED screen, displays connection information and live flight metrics, including a new g-Load meter to monitor and record inflight acceleration. Its contoured, wallet-sized case maximises GPS and ADS-B antenna reception, while boasting a more than 18 hour battery life for reliable all-day operation.

Sentry Plus also introduces a high-performance flight data recorder to automatically record, save and transfer detailed track logs to ForeFlight Mobile in seconds, for post flight review and logging. Add to this an auto power on/off setting while connected to ship power, and Sentry Plus is capable of down-to-the-minute Hobbs time tracking to streamline the flight logging process even further.

And in a first for portable receivers, Sentry Plus's antennas are optimised for concurrent UAT and European FLARM reception, enabling pilots in Europe to see and avoid nearby traffic using this popular short-range position reporting standard. A FLARM decoding licence is required to receive and display FLARM traffic and can be purchased as part of a ForeFlight subscription.
