West Star staff make their moves
At East Acton, Mark Goodman becomes team lead for the Bombardier sheet metal team and Scott Haeberle the team lead for the Bombardier interior team. At Grand Junction, Melanie Medina will lead on NDT.

US MRO specialist West Star Aviation has promoted two new team lead technicians at its St Louis Regional airport facility in East Alton, Illinois, Mark Goodman and Scott Haeberle, and Melanie Medina to NDT lead at its Grand Junction Regional airport facility in Colorado.

At St Louis, Goodman will be in the Challenger department and Haeberle will be with the Bombardier department. Goodman is team lead for the Bombardier sheet metal team and Haeberle is the team lead for the Bombardier department interior team.

Goodman has been with West Star since 2011, previously working at Midcoast as an A&P mechanic. He will be responsible for major structure projects.

“Mark is an integral part of the success and growth of the Bombardier programme. His knowledge of the structural repair of aircraft is known industry wide,” says Bombardier programme director George Laiten.

Scott started with West Star in 2017, previously working for Jet Aviation as a lead interior technician. He has more than 14 years of interior maintenance and modifications on Bombardier aircraft. He is responsible for all Bombardier interior removal and installations, including support for Interior and avionics upgrade projects.

“Scott is a very hard working and customer focused individual. His knowledge of Bombardier interiors is an important part to overall customer satisfaction,” adds Laiten.

Medina has been with West Star since 2012 but started her aviation career back in high school where she started with Western Skyways tearing down engines. During her time there she earned her Powerplant licence while also learning NDT.

“Melanie has gained experience and knowledge in NDT very quickly. Paired with her organisation and great attention to detail she will be a great lead for NDT for years to come,” says programme manager Jeremy Ficklin.

“I appreciate the opportunity to continue my career with West Star while growing my skills and expertise in the NDT field,” says Medina.
