Nomad Technics, the Basel, Switzerland-based Part 145 maintenance division of business jet operator Nomad Aviation, has completed both A and B checks on a Boeing BBJ in addition to extensive cabin maintenance and refreshing work.

The work included the scheduled maintenance with A and B checks directed by Boeing as well as out of phase tasks and defect rectification. In addition, the maintenance team also refreshed the VVIP seat covers, cabin panels and liners, and improved the interior lighting.

"We are excited that we have successfully completed A and B checks and brushed up the cabin on the Boeing BBJ aircraft, which then could be released into service and handed over to a very satisfied customer on budget and on time,” says maintenance director Christophe Haeffelin.

"Being able to offer this work certainly opens up new markets for Nomad Technics," adds director of maintenance sales Thomas Gierlich. "We are looking forward to welcoming owners and operators of Boeing BBJ aircraft that are EASA, Aruba, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Isle of Man, Qatar and San Marino registered, to demonstrate our bespoke aviation and highly skilled VVIP aircraft maintenance services at our Basel, Switzerland facility.”

The company has also signed a contract with Collins Aerospace to operate as a factory authorised business and regional systems (BRS) dealer. This agreement gives Nomad Technics full access to the US company's product range, which consists of avionics equipment and cabin systems for just about every type of business and commercial aircraft currently in operation. Nomad Technics will provide sales, marketing and after sales support to customers who use Collins avionics and cabin systems such as the Venue IFE system with high-speed internet browsing capabilities, Tailwind Live TV, as well as future mandated avionics requirements such as FANS 1/A upgrades.
