Trio of high level appointments for Duncan
As associate general counsel, Kramer L. Lyons negotiates contracts with OEMs and vendors. J. Alejandro (Alex) Díaz Reyes has joined the Duncan ranks in Mexico, while Hector Soto has joined the engine service sales team.
With his aircraft engine knowledge and experience, Hector Soto is ready to introduce potential customers in the south central region of the United States to Duncan Aviation.

Duncan Aviation has added a new member to its senior management team: director and associate general counsel Kramer L. Lyons. As associate general counsel, Lyons negotiates contracts with OEMs and vendors, assists with personnel matters, provides assistance with aircraft sales transactions and handles real estate leases for Duncan's facilities. He is also an officer who provides legal advice and assistance to the Duncan Aviation board of directions, board of advisors, Duncan family shareholders, senior management team, department managers and other company employees regarding the company's business and legal matters.

Prior to joining Duncan Aviation, Lyons was an attorney with the Lincoln-based law firm O'Neil Heinrich, where he focused on general corporate law, business and commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and construction law.

“I wasn't necessarily looking for a career change, but several people I know here at Duncan Aviation encouraged me to consider the position,” says Lyons. “The opportunity to be part of the team at a company with Duncan Aviation's reputation and get more involved in the business side of matters was appealing. Going in-house felt like a good fit, and despite the steep learning curve and the overwhelming number of aviation-specific acronyms, I'm excited to focus on one client and be involved in high-level business decisions.”

Duncan Aviation has also welcomed J. Alejandro (Alex) Díaz Reyes to its team in Mexico. In May 2021, Díaz joined Duncan Aviation's regional manager in Mexico Rodolfo Rodriguez Zapata, as the new territory manager for the central and northeast Mexico territory, with a base office soon to be established in Guadalajara, Jalisco in Mexico.

“After spending time with Alex over the years, it's easy to feel his passion for the aviation industry, but mostly, it's his passion to see his customers be successful that really draws people to him,” says sales manager Phil Suglia.

Díaz adds: “Being a part of the business aviation industry is a life dream come true. In 2018 when I was working at the ALE Service Center and attended AeroExpo in Toluca, I met several members of the Duncan Aviation team. Later in the year, at NBAA in Orlando, Florida, I met Robert and Todd Duncan, and from them I fully realised what an amazing company Duncan Aviation is. I continued building relationships with members of the Duncan Aviation team over the next couple of years, and I'm honoured to now join the Duncan Aviation family and help share its philosophy, brand and core values with customers in my territories.”

Finally, Duncan has added Hector Soto to its turbine engine service sales team. With his aircraft engine knowledge and experience, Soto is ready to introduce potential customers in the south central region of the United States to Duncan Aviation. This area includes Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. He joins Duncan Aviation with 35 years of experience in airframe and engine maintenance, customer service and regional sales, and is very excited to be joining Duncan Aviation instead of having to compete against it.

“Every time I worked with a customer about their aircraft maintenance needs, I knew I was going head-to-head against Duncan Aviation,” he comments. “Its reputation for high-quality standards and superior customer support made it hard to beat. Now I get to utilise my skills and experience on a winning team.”

Soto will work from his home in Houston, Texas.
