Metrojet completes first-of-its-kind Global installation
The BizjetMobile system provides a platform for passengers and crew members to communicate via mobile devices while on board, without needing to set up a broadband system and network for the aircraft.

Metrojet Limited's Hong Kong MRO station has become the first to complete the installation of a BizjetMobile system on a Bombardier Global 5000 aircraft. The BizjetMobile system provides a platform for passengers and crew members to communicate via mobile devices while on board, without needing to set up a broadband system and network for the aircraft.

On-site support from Bombardier was not possible due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, however the Metrojet team persevered, managing to complete the project from scratch inside two weeks. The project included coordinating draft and design with the design house online, wire routing and installation, through to obtaining final authority approval.

General manager Dave Yip comments: β€œIt was a great achievement by the team. Though a few difficulties regarding wire routing and connector location were encountered during the project, our avionics supervisor, Perry Law and the team finished the job on schedule and fulfilled the client request.”
