entrol, the Spanish manufacturer of helicopter and fixed-wing FNPT and FTD simulators, has completed the development of its Bell 505 FTD Level 2 simulator. It was sold last year to Horizon International Flight Academy.

This Bell 505 FTD Level 2 simulator will allow Horizon, a helicopter flight school based in Abu Dhabi in the UAE, to enhance its training by enabling cadets to practise emergency situations that cannot be performed in a real helicopter.

Being compliant with CS-FSTD(H) FTD Level 2 requirements, Horizon will use the device for type rating, IFR checks and initial courses (IR, ATPL). The simulator will also be offered as FNPT II for flight schools to optimise the costs of their training programmes.
