Construction is under way at Montanan FBO Minuteman Aviation as the Missoula International airport aviation service provider looks to expand its hangar availability.

Set to be completed by 30 October in preparation for a busy winter season, the new hangar will total 29,150 sq ft. While half of the structure will be filled with some of the operation's existing long-term customers, space for overnights or long-term leases will be available in the new hangar and the FBO's main hangar.

This project marks phase one of a multiyear plan to expand Minuteman Aviation's operation at Missoula to meet the demands of increased traffic. The expansion will also include an additional 150,000 sq ft of ramp space with an asphalt rating that allows for 60,000-pound aircraft. Nearly half of the ramp is completed and in use, with the remaining ramp space to be completed along with Missoula's new terminal in mid-2021.

To further serve airport clientele, Minuteman Aviation's plans include an additional taxi option in and out of its ramp for enhanced accessibility.
