Stellar Aviation has broken ground on a 35,000 sq ft hangar and office complex at Reno-Tahoe International airport, the company's second facility of that size on the airport's northeast quadrant. The project is Stellar's latest investment in a northern Nevada network that now spans two airports, three terminals at RNO and more than a quarter-million square feet of hangar space. As a proud member of the AEG Connect Network, Stellar Aviation further extends the network's commitment to exceptional service and support for operators across northern Nevada.
The new building is designed for today's largest long-range business jets. It will offer 30,000 sq ft of hangar storage, 5,000 sq ft of office and shop space, and covered vehicle parking for tenants and crews. It joins an identical sister hangar next to Stellar's recently completed FBO executive terminal at Rock Boulevard and Mill Street.
Stellar now leases and manages 80 hangars at RNO, totalling more than 250,000 sq ft. Beyond its main FBO, the company operates two additional terminals on the field. These handle on-demand charter operators such as JSX, special events, and medical, government and military flights.
About 30 miles south, Stellar's recently opened FBO at Carson City airport in the Nevadan state capital serves general aviation, military and state aviation department customers. Together, the two locations give operators flying into Reno, Carson City and the Lake Tahoe region a single FBO partner across northern Nevada.
The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority has more than $1 billion in infrastructure improvements under construction, and commercial and cargo airline service, amenities and facilities continue to expand.
“The airport authority is making a major investment in commercial and cargo infrastructure, and Stellar is committed to matching that on the general aviation side,” says Brad Kost, chief operating officer of Stellar Aviation. “This hangar is about making sure our FBO facilities keep pace with demand and deliver an exceptional experience to every guest and business at Reno-Tahoe. Together, we're helping the airport continue to grow as the vibrant regional economic engine it is today.”
Stellar Land Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Stellar Aviation, is designing and permitting an additional 100,000-sq-ft mixed-use general aviation project on the northeast side of RNO. The site is just down the street from the hangar now under construction, and groundbreaking is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
