Conklin & de Decker works with Assent on virtual auction
Given the current environment with COVID-19, Assent Aeronautics transitioned to a live online digital aircraft auction to remain in lockstep with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Challenger 605 was an auction highlight.

Conklin & de Decker has teamed up with Assent Aeronautics to provide comprehensive aircraft operating expense and life cycle cost data for all attendees of the inaugural Assent Aeronautics Live Virtual Aircraft Auction, taking place Thursday, May 14.

With streamlined access to important aircraft data, virtual attendees will be better informed before bidding on the many makes and models of business jets, pistons and turboprops at the largest virtual aircraft auction ever to take place.

Prospective buyers will be able to review a complimentary Conklin & de Decker report for all aircraft featured in the extensive auction catalog. Each report features key aircraft data, including range, speed, payload, cabin area, wingspan and more. Attendees will also be able to review detailed fixed and variable cost information and additional performance and specification data for each aircraft.

Joy Nebel, president of Conklin & de Decker, says: “We are excited to collaborate with the innovative team at Assent Aeronautics as they unveil a virtual approach to the traditional aircraft auction. With our aircraft comparison report readily available to all attendees, we look forward to incorporating Conklin & de Decker's valuable ownership and operating insights into the auction research process.”

Given the current environment driven by the COVID-19 crisis, Assent Aeronautics transitioned to the new live online digital aircraft auction to remain in lockstep with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, federal, state and local regulations, and at the request of aircraft consignors and bidders alike.

Jake Banglesdorf, vice president of Assent Aeronautics, adds: “Like many businesses globally, we have had to pivot our business model due to the COVID-19 pandemic and as a result we are hosting the world's first and largest live virtual luxury aircraft auction. With the digital research tools from our valuable collaboration with Conklin & de Decker just a click away, our attendees will have immediate and streamlined access to the data they need to make educated bidding decisions. We have found that bidders still want to bid, and sellers still want to sell, so we are adding a virtual component to our capabilities while providing an exceptional experience for our clients and partners with the same level of expertise and service that they would receive at an in-person auction house event.”

Assent hosted the largest private aircraft auction in history in the format of a live online digital aircraft auction on 14 May. The company's inaugural live virtual aircraft auction featured six business jets, three turboprops, one amphibian, and three piston twins, bringing an approximate total value of $18.9 million. The 2008 Bombardier/Challenger 605 held the highest market value.
