A dozen ACJ operators combined on the web
Airbus is supporting charter operators of its aircraft with a new website that allows VIP travellers to cherrypick their charter operator themselves, and a partnership to deliver missile defence systems.
The SPS co-operation agreement was signed by Daniel Soltani and Benoit Defforge.

Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) has launched a new web site at iflyACJ.com, that groups together in a single place information about the Airbus corporate jet offerings of 12 operators, such as details of their cabins, characteristics and tailored on-board services. It enables users to find details about each ACJ VIP charter offering in a single click. Customers can then select the desired operator and be taken to its website, allowing them to book securely and with confidence at no extra cost. ACJ operators supported the development of the website.

“For the first time we are connecting business jet travellers to ACJ operators; just click to book a unique flying experience,” says ACJ president Benoit Defforge.

ACJ operators comprise Acropolis Aviation, AirX, Comlux, Constellation Aviation, Emirates Executive, Eva Air, Global Jet, K5 Aviation, MasterJet (Luxaviation), MJet, Nomad Aviation and Tyrolean Jet Services. The fleets include the ACJ318, ACJ319, ACJ320 and ACJ340.

The company is also to cooperate with Sabena technics on self-protection systems (SPS) for its corporate jets. Each SPS would combine an existing directional infra-red countermeasure system with installation on an ACJ, initially for the ACJ320 family.

An SPS offers protection against missiles fired from man-portable air defence systems, which are the most widespread missile-threat today. Self-defence systems are already in service on some ACJs.

“This is a great new opportunity to work with ACJ on aircraft protection, which builds on an extensive portfolio of business aviation services that includes cabin-outfitting and maintenance,” says Sabena technics senior vice president, sales and business development Daniel Soltani. “We strongly believe that our ability to install and certificate these systems with airworthiness authorities, such as EASA and the FAA, is a key driver of success.”

ACJ president Benoit Defforge adds: “Offering self-protection is yet another way in which we care for our customers, and expands and consolidates the widespread range of modern aircraft and services that ACJ offers.”
