Sky Trek rebrands as Modesto Jet Center
New owners of Modesto City County's FBO are keeping the old team, adding to management and refurbishing the customer areas. Sky Trek's maintenance and avionics division will be operated by Mather Aviation.
Sky Trek Aviation's Modesto FBO has been renamed Modesto Jet Center by new owners.

Modesto City County airport-based Sky Trek Aviation has rebranded as Modesto Jet Center following a change of ownership. Matt Bosco and Dan Kimmel, decades-long customers of Sky Trek Aviation, have acquired the FBO from Jim Van Heukelem, Pennie Weber and John Rogers, who operated the company for more than 30 years.

“We have great respect for the longevity of this esteemed operation,” says Bosco. “The experienced team, some of whom have been around for more than 20 years, have carefully built a reputation for exceptional customer care. We're looking forward to working with them to uphold that reputation for heightened service in the region.”

At the helm of the team will be new general manager John Earl. He has 30 years of experience in the aviation industry, having spent the last 20 years with Pacific States Aviation in Concord, California.

To enhance the customer experience, the new owners are also planning a refresh of Modesto Jet Center's branding and customer-centric areas, namely the lobby and pilot lounges, as well as staff offices.

“Our team is excited to come in and give the facility a fresh look to enhance the already exceptional customer experience,” adds Kimmel. “We have extensive plans for the facility upgrade which will go hand-in-hand with the brand refresh.”

As an Avfuel-branded FBO, Modesto Jet Center will continue to offer customers fuel sales, line service, aircraft management, charter and acquisition and brokerage services. The maintenance and avionics division of Sky Trek Aviation, however, will be operated by Mather Aviation, and owner and president Victor Cushing says: “The Mather Aviation team has built a strong relationship with Modesto Jet Center's new owners, Matt and Dan, over the years, and we're proud to now collaborate with the FBO's team to provide comprehensive aviation services to Modesto's aviation clientele.”
