Vienna airport operator Flughafen Wien has completed construction of a new general aviation hangar, Hangar 8, on behalf of its subsidiary Vienna Aircraft Handling (VAH). A second, Hangar 9, is scheduled to be put into operation in the autumn of 2019. On completion, VAH will boast four large hangars with a total area of approximately 16,000 sqm, making the general aviation site at Vienna airport one of the top ten business aviation airports in Europe.

Hangar 8 was officially opened on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 by VAH managing directors Michael Zach and Joubin Pour.

The new hangars are 55 x 65 m in size with an entrance height of ten metres. They will provide sufficient room for aircraft ranging in size up to Bombardier Global business jet.

The general aviation centre of VAH is a 30 minute drive from and to the centre of Vienna. It offers 24/7 operations, passenger lounges, crew rest areas, a restaurant and parking facilities directly next to the terminal building. VAH operates the general aviation centre and has been an FBO at the airport for more than 20 years.
