Maldivian engines enjoy StandardAero support
StandardAero has already been providing reliable support to Maldivian's PT6A and PW100 engines over a number of years. This extension will ensure that the operator's Twin Otters and Dash 8s remain in rude health.

Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), parent company of Maldivian – national airline of the Maldives, that also provides charter on request – has signed a multi-year agreement with StandardAero to provide support for its Pratt & Whitney PT6A-27 and PW123 turboprops. These engines power the fleets of Twin Otter and Dash 8 aircraft operated by Maldivian. StandardAero will support IASL's engines from its PT6A designated overhaul facility (DOF) in Brisbane, Australia, and from its PW100 DOFs in Summerside, Canada and Gonesse, France.

This new agreement extends a long-running relationship between IASL and StandardAero, which has previously supported both the airline's PT6A-powered Twin Otter fleet, as well as its PW100-powered Dash 8 fleet.

Mohamed Hassan, head of engineering at IASL, says: “We look forward to continuing our relationship with StandardAero, supporting maintenance on the PW100 and PT6A engines in our fleet.”

StandardAero VP of global sales and marketing Jason Johnson adds: “We are proud to have been selected by our long-standing customer IASL for its future engine maintenance needs. “We genuinely value the close relationship that our two teams have built over the years, through the support of Maldivian's PT6A and PW100 powerplants, and look forward to many more years of serving the airline and its customers with reliable support.”

StandardAero supports the global P&W PT6A operator community from four DOFs located in North America, Europe, Africa and Australasia, backed up by a global network of seven service centres and over twenty dedicated mobile repair technicians. StandardAero is also a DOF for the P&W PW100/PW150A engine families, with overhaul facility locations in Summerside, Gonesse, and Seletar, Singapore, supported by seven service centre locations across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia. With more than 25 years of reliable turboprop experience, StandardAero provides operators with a nose-to-tail suite of services, including repair capabilities, engine exchanges, rentals and engine condition trend monitoring (ECTM) analysis.
