New owners push to complete Carlsbad terminal
Josh and Julia Hochberg have taken the helm of a second FBO, at McClellan-Palomar Airport, and already have plans to complete construction of its terminal building.
Carlsbad Jet Center offers convenient access to southern California attractions, including beautiful beaches, surfing, resorts and golf courses.

Carlsbad Jet Center at McClellan-Palomar Airport (KCRQ), formerly operating as Magellan Aviation, has begun operations under the leadership of Josh and Julia Hochberg, owners of Sonoma Jet Center (KSTS).

Although the management team has changed, the staff at the FBO remainl on board. “We’re excited to step in and lead this team,” says Josh Hochberg. “Our Carlsbad Jet Center staff have established a great rapport with many existing customers and we’re looking forward to building on that, focusing on standard-setting customer care and safety. Our priority is to provide our customers with seamless operations and teamwork to ensure our customers, their aircraft and their passengers are happy and well taken care of. Our promise to them is to adhere to our corporate values of safety, customer, community, teamwork and innovation through this transitional period and beyond, providing regular, honest and candid communication.”

The FBO’s management team has already formulated plans to introduce NATA Safety 1st training and is working toward IS-BAH certification, just as the Hochbergs have done at their Sonoma Jet Center location.

The FBO’s new operator also plans to finish construction of the long-awaited FBO terminal and has already retained key personnel to see the development through to completion.

The 10,000 square foot facility will include leasable office space, a conference room, a pilot lounge and passenger waiting areas. This addition will bring Carlsbad Jet Center's facilities to more than 180,000 square feet of hangar and office space.

“It’s going to be a beautiful facility, and it’s about 80 percent there,” says Hochberg. “We are excited to offer our customers a premier experience in a state-of-the-art facility at McClellan-Palomar Airport to provide the complete customer-oriented experience: excellent services in a first-class facility.”

The facility has also been appointed an Avfuel-branded FBO, offering competitive prices with Avfuel Contract Fuel.
