Universal Avionics reveals top dealerships in 2018
Major modifications and upgrade programmes were central to the success of Universal Avionics representatives in Wichita and Scandinavia, and the company has marked their achievements with top dealer status.

Universal Avionics (UA) is pleased to announce its top dealers of 2018. Global Aviation Technologies (GAT) has been named Americas Dealer of the Year and Scandinavian Avionics A/S International Dealer of the Year.

Each year, Universal Avionics recognises two dealers out of several hundred in its authorised dealer network who have achieved outstanding sales performance for the year. Both companies' expertise and commitment to pursuing UA upgrades were instrumental in their successful performance this year, it says.

Global Aviation Technologies' knowledge and background on the Learjet product line is extensive and was vital in being awarded the C-21, the military version of the Learjet 35A, avionics modification programme with the US Air Force. This programme was a key success factor that catapulted GAT into the top dealer spot for 2018.

Scandinavian Avionics A/S was involved in the LET 410 forward fit and Saab 340 upgrade programmes. Additional ADS-B Out upgrades and CVR-120 installations also contributed as new European mandates approach.

“We are excited about all of the programmes won through our authorised dealer network this past year," says Robert Clare, UA director of sales. "Both GAT and Scandinavian Avionics have proven their commitment to the sale, installation and maintenance of avionics. Their teams' skills, dedication and enthusiasm stand out and we are delighted to present them with these well-deserved awards."

“I remember when we first approached UA and wanted to be an authorised dealer," says Woody Cottner, GAT VP business development. "At the time, we did not satisfy all of the gates required," he adds. "But here we are today and have been honoured with top dealer of the year. We are extremely grateful and thankful that UA gave us an opportunity to represent such an outstanding organisation. The customer service at UA is second to none. We are looking forward to furthering the relationship between GAT and UA."

“We are extremely proud to be named as International Dealer for Universal Avionics again, now for the sixth time in eight years," says Hardy B Truelsen, Scandinavian Avionics VP and sales director. "This award is a result of a capable UA product portfolio, which together with our turnkey solutions (equipment, installation, certification, maintenance, and training) is a most attractive package to the professional aviation market. We will of course continue to develop the concepts in order to optimise customer service and satisfaction, and hopefully qualify for more awards in the future."
