Global Jet Centre celebrates five year anniversary
The founders of GJC had more than 45 years of collective aviation experience when they set up their Dubai brokerage. With another five years each under their belts they reflect on their challenges.

Customised high-end solutions, personalised service, privacy and luxury in a fast-moving and highly demanding world made perfect business sense when Claudio Lietaert, Bashar Beasha and Naushad Ahmad established their charter brokerage back in 2013. With more than 45 years of combined experience in the regional and international aviation industry, the three partners set up Global Jet Centre (GJC) at Dubai World Central, which as one of the fastest growing markets in the region and a major hub for the aviation industry, offered them an ideal base from which to embark on their new venture.

Over the past five years, the GJC team has seen how changes in the financial market's situation have affected client behaviour: longer intercontinental flights have been dropped or replaced while domestic and regional flights on foreign continents have increased; new air charter applications have been introduced; and clients are chartering larger aircraft types in the region than compared to the rest of the world. The challenge for GJC has been to provide reliable aircraft that have a long range and offer luxury at a competitive operating cost.

The GJC partners have managed to achieve healthy growth within a highly competitive market. During the past five years the number of flights chartered by the company has, it says, increased by 200 per cent while the number of sectors being flown by clients has grown by 250 per cent.

“Since the launch of GJC in 2013 we have focused on becoming the brokerage consultants of choice, both in the region and internationally,” say Lietaert, Beasha and Ahmad. “Our dedication and commitment has paid off. As we celebrate our fifth anniversary we are happy with our achievements so far. We have succeeded in growing our office by 150 per cent and our team by 300 per cent. We are steadily increasing both numbers of new clients and our revenue, and we look forward to many more in the future.”
