APG introduces performance calculation app
The integrated functionality of iPreFlight Genesis aims to makes flight planning effortless. A reconfigured mobile interface supports numerous regulatory requirements and more than 350 aircraft types.
CEO Mike Caflisch is driving safety, compliance and operational efficiency with the introduction of APG's iPreFlight Genesis app.

US software company Aircraft Performance Group (APG) has introduced iPreFlight Genesis, an integrated, stand-alone iPad mobile app that combines international flight planning, runway analysis and weight and balance calculations. With a few simple inputs, pilots and dispatchers can perform such flight planning calculations as selecting the desired route from multiple options, changing flight profiles, SID/STAR selection, alternate designations and flight plan filing. All runway analysis calculations are automatically generated for departure, arrival and emergency returns. Even special engine-out departure procedures are available to maximise allowable takeoff weights. Weight and balance calculations are made automatically as well, based on passenger/cargo load, flight plan specifics and runway analysis limit weights. All computations can be made using current/forecast weather (TAF, METAR) or using APG's proprietary historical weather database.

CEO Mike Caflisch says: “We were frequently asked by customers when we were going to add flight planning to iPreFlight. With the launch of iPreFlight Genesis we've answered the call and delivered a truly remarkable mobile app that will greatly enhance the flight planning process and user experience."

The app delivers highly integrated functionality through a reconfigured mobile interface that is easy to understand and use. It comprises support for numerous regulatory agency requirements, more than 350 supported aircraft types and 24/7 technical support.

“APG has been providing flight operations engineering support services to pilots, dispatchers, and business and commercial aircraft operators for nearly 20 years,” adds Caflisch. “As we continue to drive safety, compliance and operational efficiency into the industry, iPreFlight Genesis sets a new standard for flight support with a mobile app."
