Odyssey Aviation completes hangar and ramp expansion
An extra three acres of apron space has opened up for business aircraft visiting Odyssey Aviation in the Bahamas, alongside a new hangar that is already fully occupied.
The completion of Odyssey's second hangar increases its total hangar space to 50,000 sq ft.

Odyssey Aviation, the Bahaman network, has completed a new 25,000 sq ft aircraft hangar at its Nassau location. The hangar features a 200 ft clear-span by 28 ft high hangar door, allowing wide open interior hangar space to accommodate clients' aircraft. There is also 3,000 sq ft of office space available to Odysseys' hangar tenants. In addition, Odyssey has added three acres of 12-inch reinforced concrete aircraft parking apron.

Odyssey's ceo Steven K Kelly says: “Business is booming in the Bahamas and at all our Odyssey Aviation locations, and this trend is predicted to continue. The new hangar is already fully occupied with long-term tenants. Each office has its own entrance, is 100 per cent private and has CCTV and extensive security measures in place throughout.

“We have always strived to ensure a quality customer experience and we are constantly focused on training. We want all our guests to feel safe, secure and leave the Bahamas with a positive experience.”

This is Odyssey's second hangar and increases its total hangar space to 50,000 sq ft. Both will handle aircraft up to and including a Gulfstream G650.

The $5.75 million development brings the total occupied footprint to more than 26.5 acres, which Kelly states is the largest footprint of any FBO at Nassau's Lynden Pindling International airport (LPIA).

LPIA tops the list of the busiest airports in the Caribbean, with 2018 being the busiest summer in the nation's history. A combination of factors contributed to the increase in arrivals, the main factor being that Odyssey Aviation and LPIA did not sustain any damage from the hurricanes that ravaged the rest of the Caribbean region last year.

Odyssey Aviation Nassau claims to have the only fully private property on the field and to handle the largest percentage of general aviation traffic. The added space will create room to park 10 to 15 more aircraft which will significantly aid in the flow of traffic during peak season.
