Latest quiet props certified for Caravans in Brazil
Hot on the heels of European certification, MT-Propeller is now hopeful that Caravan owners in Brazil will want to take advantage of quieter, more efficient spinners.

Cessna 208 and 208B owners in Brazil can now take advantage of an STC from ANAC for the latest MT-Propeller five-blade quiet fan jet or four-blade scimitar composite propellers, in conjunction with Pratt & Whitney PT6A-42A and PT6A-140 engines with optional increased gross weight.

The company says that the five-blade MTV-27 propeller on the C208 Blackhawk delivers a 200 ft shorter take-off distance, a three kts cruise speed increase, more ground clearance because of a smaller diameter for less blade tip erosion and optional rpm reduction to 1,950 rpm for noise reduction.

The installation of the four-blade MTV-16 also offers the same cruise speed increase and more ground clearance. It weighs approximately 35 lbs less than the original propeller.

MT-Propeller natural composite propellers have no life limitation, are repairable in case of an FOD and have bonded-on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.

Blackhawk Modifications was granted full aftermarket exclusivity to provide the MT five-blade composite propeller to PT6A-140 and -42A powered Cessna Caravans including the Grand Caravan EX in July this year.
