MT-Propeller adds quieter seven blade Piper option
The EASA approval expands European operating flexibility while improving climb, cruise and take-off performance for Piper PA46 operators.
The seven blade installation improves cruise speeds by between two and three knots true airspeed.

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has secured EASA certification for its “Silent 7” seven blade propeller installation on Piper PA46-600TP and Piper PA46-701TP aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney PT6A turbine engines.

EASA STC 10089486 covers the MTV-37-1-E-C-F-R(P)/CFR205-353( ) propeller installation for PT6A-42A-powered PA46-600TP aircraft and PT6A-52-powered PA46-701TP aircraft. FAA certification remains underway.

According to MT-Propeller vice president Martin Albrecht, the seven blade installation cuts take-off distance by around 10% and improves climb performance by approximately 5% under sea level ISA conditions.

The propeller complies with Germany’s 2010 Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung noise regulations, supporting unrestricted airport access across Germany and other European countries.

MT-Propeller says its long-established natural composite blade design reduces cabin and external noise while offering vibration damping characteristics intended to deliver smoother operation.

The blades are repairable following foreign object damage and include bonded nickel alloy leading edges designed to improve erosion resistance.
