Heli-One Norway is opening a 3,500 square foot blade repair and overhaul shop at its facility in Stavanger. Alongside this, the company has added AS350 blades to its existing AS332, H225 and Sikorsky S-92 blade capabilities. This larger facility with its distinct climate-controlled environment is set to improve turnaround times by enabling multiple inspections to run simultaneously.

Heli-One Norway has an average turnaround time on AS332/H225 blades of two to three weeks and has processed more than 100 blades in the last four years.

The company has also completed an Airbus AS332L1 SAR reconfiguration for CHC Helicopter, which has been contracted to provide services for the Norwegian Ministry of Justice and Public Safety's Norwegian All-Weather Search and Rescue Helicopter programme. This reconfiguration provides CHC with an aircraft that has been updated with the latest SAR equipment and avionics technology.

“As a project manager at CHC, it has been a pleasure to work with so many skilled people,” comments Per Arne Utne. “The ability, energy and willingness to go the extra mile was unique. In such a complicated project, coordination and supply chain are always critical factors. The staff really stepped up and performed in a high gear, demonstrating great creativity and effort to procure the necessary parts and components for this aircraft.”

Heli-One has also recently promoted Tord Torgersen to MD. He has been with the company since 2006 first as a customer support manager and most recently as director of operations.
