Elit'Avia San Marino Srl has obtained an AOC courtesy of the San Marino Civil Aviation Authority). San Marino operates on ICAO rather than EASA regulations, which will enable Elit'Avia's aircraft to enter service in Europe more swiftly.

Says chief communication officer Menelaus Kapranos: “In Elit'Avia's constant search for new and innovative services to offer its customers, adding the San Marino AOC makes a lot of sense. If a European customer brings an N-registered aircraft over to Europe on an EASA AOC, the aircraft is likely to require modification and STCs. This is time-consuming and will have a financial cost. By operating on the San Marino AOC, that aircraft can go into operation much more quickly, because those modifications will not be required.”

He is impressed by the team at SMAR: “San Marino has access to some of the most respected inspectors in the industry. They are very pro-aviation and always have a strong presence at EBACE, making a serious statement about pushing this register. We are happy to be a part of it.

“EMEA has always been our focus. Appointing London-based Wynton Faure as sales director in recent months means that we are also expanding into the UK market.”
