Flightstar receives FAA approval for Gogo Avance L5 in Learjet 40/70 series

Flightstar Corporation, located in in Champaign, Illinois, has received FAA approval for the installation of Gogo Business Aviation Avance L5 equipment in Bombardier Learjet 40, 45, 70 and 75 aircraft. Supplemental type certificate (STC) ST04479CH was awarded to Flightstar Corporation on September 9, 2020.

This STC allows for the installation of two external antennas with Flightstar fuselage adapters, eight internal antennas and the mounting of the LRU and ACM in the lavatory baggage area. Included is a one-time use of the Flightstar Wi-Fi activation STC (ST04439CH).

Flightstar is proud to again be providing solutions for the retrofit of the Bombardier Learjet 40 and 70 series," stated Flightstar avionics sales manager, Greg Vail. “Cabin connectivity has increasingly become more important for business travellers. They are in search of faster connections with more features that maximise the inflight experience. The Gogo Avance L5 system meets these needs and provides the framework for improved solutions into the future.”

Gogo Avance L5 accesses the Gogo 4G ground network to deliver faster speeds and enhanced network capability. This system enables a more robust experience for activities such as streaming video and audio, on-demand movies, personal smartphone use, and real-time data for cockpit apps while in flight.

Approval by Transport Canada Civil Aviation is in progress.
