Charter operators frustrated by the long waiting list for their preferred VLJs are showing interest in acquiring a pre-owned Citation S550-2 that comes on to the market in Switzerland in April.
Manfred Brunner, md of the Growing Group which is handling the sale, says: "It has only been used for corporate charter, is in good condition and will be ready after some engine maintenance." The S550-2 was operated by WIP Flight Ops, the corporate flight department of WIP Trading, but the company has now decided to use third party aircraft.
Brunner says: "The S550-2, which is for sale for around US$2.5 million, is not expensive and seats eight people. It is therefore a viable alternative to VLJs for those who cannot get one when they want one and this is a major reason for the interest we have received."
