Aerogulf Services diversifies to attract key business
Dubai-based Aerogulf Services has been in operation since 1976 providing helicopter support to the Dubai's oil and gas industry and aerial work for a variety of other industries throughout the Middle East.

Dubai-based AeroGulf Services has been in operation since 1976 providing helicopter support to the Dubai's oil and gas industry and aerial work for a variety of other industries throughout the Middle East. It has a fleet of seven Bell 212s and two Bell 206s. Services range from offshore support, charters, heavy lifting, seismic, aerial work and adventure tours.

"Over the recent years, AeroGulf Services has been diversifying its experience and expertise to become a key player in the tourism industry by offering its heli touring experience Fly Dubai to the local and global inbound travel industry," says Aerogulf's Capt. Andreas Engeli.

He points out: "Dubai is a strong thriving commercial centre that has become the world's new destination of leisure, five star luxury and Arabian adventure experience. The exper-ience visitors and locals alike will have is of tremendous importance. AeroGulf Services believes that showcasing Dubai from the skies will be a beneficial attraction factor for the local tourism industry."

The strengthening of the region as a tourism destination feeds through to other sectors including real estate, property and construction, he says.

"We also have seen a tremendous increase in filming for world documentaries, Bollywood movies and TV commercials in the past few years." Aerogulf, which plans to expand its fleet, is keeping a close eye on the development of the BA609 Tiltrotor. "This is poised to revolutionise the rotorcraft industry. It has the unique mission flexibility to take-off and land like a helicopter, yet cruise at speeds and altitudes like a turboprop fixed wing," says Engeli. He believes its ability to carry six vips, or four stretchers, or provide nine airline comfort seats, will add new dimensions of versatility and choice to flight departments worldwide. AeroGulf Services holds two options on the Bell 609, with a projected delivery in 2010, and two of the soon to be certified Bell 429 twin, slated for delivery in 2009.
