Geneva-based charterer Sonnig is further expanding its fleet with a Gulfstream G550 as it responds

to increasing demand for long-haul business.

Director of operations Mikael Oscarsson said" "We are simply meeting the demands of the customer who wants to fly a certain distance fast, effectively and in comfort."

He added: "A lot of customers want the range and like to travel in comfort in a wider cabin. There is a growing demand for flights from Europe and Moscow to the US and from Europe and Moscow to Asia."

Business and leisure chartering is growing fast in eastern Europe and in Asia.

Sonnig was launched in 1964 with a shorter-haul European focus but began serious expansion in 2000

and has established a strong long-haul capacity.

Its fleet consists of a Citation II, two Citation V, a Sabreliner 65, a Challenger 601 and a Challenger 604. The Citation II and the Challenger 604 are managed and the others owned.

Oscarsson said: "Our current expansion underpins our development as a world-wide operation."

The G550 has a delivery time of two years.
