Stuttgarter Flugdienst (SFD) is celebrating half a century in business aviation. The company was founded in 1956, providing aerial photography, sightseeing and, occasionally, business charter flights.

In 1974, SFD formed a sister company, Contact Air, which operated flights worldwide for trade and industry clients. Following the recession in the early 80's, Contact Air developed into an airline carrier and became a Team Lufthansa Partner in 1997, ending its ties with SFD.

As SFD entered the 90's, the company increasingly engaged in charter activities again, operating a Beech King Air 200 and a Citation II. Fast forward to today, and the fleet has grown to six Citation jets and a Beech King Air C90.
