Swiss operator manages 'cheaper' CL300

ExecuJet has acquired a Challenger 300 under a management contract with a European company. The aeroplane is currently being used privately but once the AOC is approved, it will be used for a mix of charter operations and private flights.

The CL300 is expected to begin operations in October or November, according to general manager Peter Hartmann. He noted that the owner selected the Challenger 300 because it is less expensive to run than the CL604 and is able to carry 10 passengers over long distances within Europe and the Middle East, and further afield when required. The company currently operates three CL604s.

Hartmann claims that the charter market in Switzerland is enjoying a boom, with demand continuing to outstrip supply, stating that more owners are approaching management companies to manage their aircraft and the legal issues that accompany their use.

Since the September 11 terrorist attacks and the JAR OPS regulations, understanding and complying with the regulations has become more difficult. “The regulations are not getting any easier and you have to ensure that you do what the law states,” he said.
