Admal Flying Academy in Malaysia has acquired an Alsim AL250 simulator for its Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL/IR) and Frozen ATPL training programme, providing cadets with a realistic and repeatable training environment.
The AL250 addresses the initial phase of training needs (PPL, CPL, Instrument and Multi Engine ratings) and is a SEP/MEP reconfigurable simulator certified as an EASA FNPT II, FAA AATD and Transport Canada FTD Level 2 with IPC capability. It offers both analogue and glass cockpits for each aircraft at the flick of a switch. More than 125 units are installed and operating worldwide.
The simulator will be used for procedural and instrument training while cadets progress to Admal’s fleet of Piper Warrior and Piper Seneca aircraft.
Adam S. Malek, chief operating officer at Admal Flying Academy, says: “It gives us a safe, cost-efficient way to build handling and instrument skills to a consistently high level before cadets ever step into one of our aircraft.”
Maximilien Le Moing, sales manager at Alsim, adds: “We quickly identified the AL250 as a good fit for their training needs, especially with the flexibility to cover both single-engine and multi-engine training.”
Admal Flying Academy is approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) as an ATO.FTO. It delivers the CPL/IR and Frozen ATPL, together with a Diploma in Aviation Management, through an integrated programme comprising ground schooling at Admal Aviation College in Sepang, followed by flight training based at Kuala Terengganu Airport (WMKN). The academy operates its own fleet of Piper PA28 and Piper PA34 aircraft, all owned and maintained by Admal’s CAAM-approved maintenance organisation.
The academy is part of the Admal Group of Companies, which also includes Admal Sdn Bhd, covering aircraft leasing, sales, Part 145 AMO and CAMO activities, and Admal Aviation College, a CAAM Part 66 exam centre and Part 147 Aircraft Maintenance Training Organisation.
